Between the month of March and April I was able to hold two stampin'Up classes, had two workshops and hostessed two Welcome Wagon workshops. All this and I started a new job, which by the way is only 5 or so minutes from home and I love it!
We celebrated my sister's birthday in March and as well as my dad's birthday just yesterday, April 21st. My family and I had a wonderful Easter which included a fun Easter Egg hunt for the kids and a lovely dinner.
It has definitely been a very social two months and now to mention the high light of April. Something I had been looking forward to for a long time. The Stampin'Up Regional Seminar in Seattle.
The seminar was this past weekend, April 18th and so this was something else to prepare for prior to going.
I went with my upline, Brenda and one of her other downline Pat. It was held at the Seattle Convention Center. This was my first time to a regional seminar and I found it to be very fun and learned many new techniques. I only had time to make 24 swap cards but I got to take a lot of pictures of other cards and crafts so it didn't matter that I didn't have many swap cards. Here is the swap card I made to trade with women at the seminar.
Shelli was first on stage to welcome all the nearly 200 women attending. There were many women from all over Washington State, BC and California. It was amazing. The cards and projects they presented were all so interesting and quite a few unique ideas were shared. When we arrived we were given a Stampin'Up 12 x 12 keepsake. In it we had six projects we were going to work on while we were there and in the package we also received our Best Wishes and More stamp set. They had Big Shots there to share and each table had a bin of equipment to share as well. We arrived very close to 9:00 a.m. just before the seminar started but we were able to find 3 chairs at one table.
Between speakers and demonstrations we worked on our projects or walked around to take pictures of various projects and creations at the display tables. Here are a few of them.
One of my highlights at the seminar was meeting Shelli. She is so gracious and down to earth. Very personable woman and we had a short but meaningful chat. She spoke about how she was so glad to be in Seattle surrounded by enthusiastic demonstrators especially after this week, (they laid people off on Wednesday). She was glad to be surrounded by supportive people. You could tell she was very affected by what had happen. I really enjoyed meeting her.
